Jenny Campbell, LCSW
Individual and Group Psychotherapy in NYC

Individual Therapy Sessions

I am a licensed psychotherapist and support group facilitator in private practice. My goal is provide a warm, nonjudgemental space for you to explore feelings and evolving perspectives in sessions. Together we forge a pathway to greater insight and deeper meaning.
I work with adults and elders in person in Ridgewood, Queens and online throughout NY state. I specialize in supporting clients as they navigate life transitions, face challenges, work through conflict and process grief.
My approach is gender and sexuality affirming and integrates somatic, existential, and psychodynamic relational modalities. I have particular interest and experience working with artists.
Caregiver Groups
If you’re supporting a family member through a health crisis or long-term illness, you don’t have to go through it alone. A caregiver group is a place that can help you move out of ‘survival mode’ and reconnect with your own well-being alongside others who truly understand.
In structured, regular sessions, members share knowledge and guidance, create vital bonds, and explore complex feelings related to caregiving.
Couples Counseling
This practice offers a supportive, consistent space to explore your relationship as it is, and how it could be. In 1hr sessions, clients learn to bring curiosity and openness to conflict, attachment patterns, and the potential for change.
We work toward your specific goals using an approach rooted in Family Systems Theory and Nonviolent Communication, creating a collaborative space where healthier patterns can develop naturally.

About the practice
What inspired you to become a therapist?
I have always been drawn to helping people tell their stories. I was a theatre artist and teacher in the first part of my life. I focused on creating original work and helping my students create their own plays.
Along the way, mentors and thinkers I encountered modeled the importance of deep listening and support in a life well lived. I saw how powerful it can be to find a safe, comfortable place to tell your story and have it heard by another. This inspired me to commit time and energy to the mysterious, surprising and deeply life affirming process of therapeutic connection.
Where did you study therapy, where are you licensed to practice?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NY state.
I got my Masters of Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work.
I trained as a psychiatric social worker in community mental health agencies with clients all over NYC, mainly focused on grief work and chronic illness issues. I have supported countless NYC artists and arts professionals in moments of change and transition. Often but not always, art making becomes part of the process of discovery and healing.
I have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Grief Therapy and facilitation of clinical groups.
What values does your practice adhere to?

Clients
What are your typical clients like?
Clients have ranged in age from 25-93! My clients are often dealing with issues of difficult change, adaptation and often loss. I have extensive experience supporting older adults, as well as adults of all ages who work in the entertainment and arts fields.
I am a proud LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician, and feel comfortable working with clients around issues related to gender, identity and sexuality. I work with a racial justice lens and advocate in my work for disability rights and self-determination.
Spirituality and insight inform the work with some clients. It is an honor to help others in developing or reinforcing existing systems of meaning-making and wisdom that help them through challenge and change.
